Cantina Fratelli Pardi
Umbria
About the Winery
The Cantina Fratelli Pardi (The Pardi Brothers' Winery) story begins in 1919, when the brothers Alfredo, Francesco and Alberto Pardi established the business on the ground floor of the Saint Marcus Hospital. The wines were sold all over Umbria, and sometimes also out of the region, to important customers, such as the Vatican. In 1925, at the exhibition of Oils and Wines from Umbria and Sabina, the Pardi Brothers were awarded the silver medal for their red table wines by the Minister of National Economy. Fast-forward to 2002, when Francesco, Gianluca Rio and Alberto Mario, eager to keep the family's wine-making tradition alive, revived their great-grandfathers' winery. Today the same way of thinking and commitment of the family are handed down by the new generation with enthusiasm.
Umbria
Known as the "Green Heart of Italy," Umbria is the only land-locked region in the central part of the country, bordered by Tuscany, Marche and Lazio. Its enchanting medieval towns and rolling hills carpeted with olive groves and vineyards can make it appear as if time has stood still. When it comes to winemaking, however, Umbria's quality production makes it clear that time has indeed continued to march on. Often noted for its crisp, iconic white wine Orvieto, the region also makes intriguing reds that every wine lover should know. Umbria is home to native red grape Sagrantino, as well as Sangiovese, Colorino and other indigenous Italian varieties. -- source: Wine Enthusiast

Cantina Fratelli Pardi | Montefalco Grechetto | 2021 | 92 | Salty minerality and summer nectarine glide across the palate. Fierce acidity seasoned with oregano and crushed almonds gives way to a squeeze of lemon on the finish.
Cantina Fratelli Pardi | Montefalco Grechetto | 2021 | 90 | Pale gold in color, from a touch of skin contact, this wine opens with aromas of chamomile, white tea, roasted pear and dried apricot. The lush palate shows orange marmalade and wild herbs, finishing with a slight tannic edge, making this a great option for roast pork or grilled swordfish.
Cantina Fratelli Pardi | Montefalco Grechetto | 2021 | 88 | Medium-deep yellow; aromas of golden apples, pear and saffron. Medium-bodied, this is quite ripe, with a rich mid-palate; there is good acidity and harmony. Relatively straightforward, enjoy over the next 2-3 years. |
